We use sophisticated methods as Mixed Integer Linear optimization techniques to optimize the energy flows in buildings, microgrids, campuses, or areas of the distribution grid. Optimal technology combinations and control signals will be determined and based on these results we are able to identify the most attractive economic solutions for your projects.
A wide variety of energy technologies are considered in our work. We have extensive experience with modelling of Photovoltaics, electr. storage, EVs, heat and cold storage technologies, generation resources as Internal Combustion Engines, Fuel Cells, Combined Heat and Power (CHP), etc. Additionally, we model market interactions and policy impacts for all these technologies.
Our team has planned numerous microgrid projects worldwide. We consider grid stability issues and also critical load issues when microgrids disconnect from the main grid and reconnect. Depending on customers’ project budget we design fully renewable based, hybrid, or combustion engine based microgrids (e.g. biogas) and are able to consider load shifting and curtailment of non-critical loads.
Power Flow Analysis
One of the core capabilities which distinguishes us from other software tools and companies is our integrated power flow analysis simulation approach which allows us to run economic technology selection in parallel with the power flow simulation. Thus, we can identify the best “siding” places for DER and microgrid technologies in the distribution grid or microgrid. Time Series and Transient Analyses are also part of our work and XENDEE software platform.
